UPMC Health Plan Advance Commission Option
UPMC Health Plan is pleased to announce our advance commission option. Eligible producers who enroll new individual members in UPMC Individual Advantage, UPMC VirtualCare, or UPMC First Care™ plans with an effective date in January through July 2024 have the option to receive six months in advance commission.
Advance Commission Details
Only new individual policies sold with January to July 2024 effective dates are eligible for advance commission payouts.
Example
If a producer opts in of receiving advance commissions and sells 80 new members in any network and any plan design with an effective date of Jan. 1, 2024: The advance commission paid for selling 80 new members x $15 x six months would be $7,200. (Payments are made the same month that the sale occurs.)
How To Opt In
If you would like to participate in the Advance Commission Program, you must do the following:
- If you would like to opt in to receive six months of advance payments for all new individual policies sold with January to July 2024 effective dates, please send an email to the Commission Department upmchpcommissions@upmc.edu stating that you would like to opt in for advance commission payments.
- Your email must be received by Dec. 31, 2023.
- Include the Agency name (if applicable) and broker number from your commission statements.
- You will receive a confirmation reply within 2 business days of your email. If you do not hear back from the Producer Relations team, please follow up to ensure your request was received.
Terms and Conditions
The UPMC Health Plan Advance Commission (the “Program”) is subject to the terms and conditions of the Producer Agreement between the contracted producer and UPMC Health Plan, and it applies only to new individual business written with January to July 2024 effective dates.
- UPMC Health Plan may, in its sole discretion, cancel, amend, terminate, or suspend this Program at any time.
- Notification to opt in for advance commissions must be requested by Dec. 31, 2023.
- All renewal individual commissions will continue to be paid monthly at $15 PMPM for 2024.
- This includes January to July effective dates only.
- After the first 6 months, commission payments will be made on a monthly basis.
- We reserve the right to recover any advance commissions that were paid in the event a member terminates coverage with UPMC Health Plan within six months of the effective date.
