We know that ordering Attending Physician Statements (APS) can slow down the underwriting process. That’s why we take a data-driven approach to finding responsible ways to order fewer and say ‘yes’ more often.
We are able to make more effective use of emerging digital health data, enabling us to reduce APS orders done only for age and amount purposes. Through this innovative approach, we:
- Eliminated ALL age and amount APS requirements through age 49 for face amounts through $1,000,000.
- Liberalized the age and timeframe parameters over age 49 and above $1,000,000.
- Will not require an APS in other situations where we can leverage sufficient digital health data such as Rx, Medical Claims Data or Clinical Lab Data.
We will still order medical records as necessary to underwrite the risk for any case. However, when we do require medical records, we will always utilize Electronic Medical Records whenever possible.
