Clarification on broker commission

Oops! In the October broker bulletin, we mistakenly said the commission for Geisinger Funding Alternative (GFA) groups is $50 per employee per month (PEPM) for the first year. The standard GFA commission is $30 PEPM, but additional commission can be added upon request. The commission for new-to-Geisinger Health Plan fully insured groups is $50 PEPM for their first year.

Geisinger hospitals receive multiple awards for heart care

Three Geisinger hospitals were recently honored by the American Heart Association for the lifesaving care they provide to patients.

Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, Geisinger Medical Center in Danville and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre have received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline^® STEMI Receiving Center Gold Plus recognition.

This recognition showcases hospitals that provide 24/7 support for STEMI, a more dangerous type of heart attack, by coordinating with a network of referring hospitals and emergency medical services to provide guideline-directed care.

Geisinger Medical Center was also recognized with the AHA’s Aortic Stenosis Honor Roll and the Get with the Guidelines Heart Failure Gold Plus. Both awards highlight the lifesaving care provided during a cardiac emergency.
