See how an EAP program can help your clients’ employees
Capital Blue Cross offers our members greater access to mental health services with self-care resources like VirtualCare, behavioral health services, and Healthy Blue Rewards. But some people need more one-on-one interaction, which is why we’re also empowering members with an employee assistance program through Mazzitti & Sullivan that comes with their health plan.
Join our webinar on October 25 at 10:00 AM ET to learn more about how taking advantage of the EAP can help your clients' bottom line, improve whole health in the workplace, and more.
Individual open enrollment on Pennie
2024 open enrollment (OE) begins November 1, 2023, and concludes on January 19, 2024. Because January 15 is a holiday, Pennie is extending OE through Friday, January 19 (for the 2024 year only).
The deadline for a January 1 effective date is December 15. Applications submitted between December 16 and January 19 will be for coverage starting February 1.
Producers must be certified by Pennie to participate.
To become a Pennie-certified broker, you must:
Be a licensed producer with Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
Recertifying brokers must take the recertification course prior to October 31, 2023. If recertification is not completed by then, the broker will have to complete the full new certification course. Failure to complete certification by December 31 will result in the loss of certification and of your Pennie book of business effective January 1.
Medicare open enrollment for plan year 2024 runs October 15 – December 7. Producers must be appointed and complete the Capital Blue Cross Core Training to sell our Capital Blue Cross Medicare Advantage plans.
To learn more about getting appointed, contact our producer management team. Check out the 2024 Agent Quick Reference Guide for resource information.
Earn an incentive when you help new Medicare Advantage members complete their Health Risk Assessment
You can earn a one-time $50 service fee when you help new Capital Blue Cross individual Medicare Advantage members complete their Health Risk Assessment questionnaire. Download our FAQ to learn more.
New Medicare Commissions coming in 2024
In 2024, Capital Blue Cross will offer an option for all-in-one dental, vision, and hearing coverage for members with our BlueReliance and Security Medicare Supplement plans. In addition to any applicable commissions for the sale of the Medicare Supplement plan, producers will be eligible for an additional $3 PMPM for the sale of Reliance Plus. We also will offer a bonus program for BlueReliance plans sold with Reliance Plus during the first half of 2024.
The online Reliance Plus application is now available (click on "Ways to enroll").
2024 plans for individuals and families
The 2024 product brochureis now available; it includes important information such as plan highlights and member resources. Take note of the following new plans for 2024:
PPO Choice Select in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry counties.
Performance PPO in Adams, Franklin, Lebanon, and York counties.
Our commission schedule is also available for on and off Pennie plans. Renewal commissions will increase to $18 PMPM for 2024.
Non-Large Group Census Template enhancements give members early access to their plan
The Non-Large Census Template, available in Salesforce, now includes optional fields to capture a subscriber’s cell phone number and email address. While these fields are not currently required for enrollment, they will be needed to support future subscriber-focused engagement programs that will offer enhanced access to plan details, such as access to a digital version of their ID card.
Begin using the current version of the template today. The banner at the top of the instruction sheet reads “This version updated as of 8/1/2023.” Beginning November 1, any outdated versions will be returned with a request to complete this latest version.
Use the newest version of the Application for Group Benefits
A new version of our Application for Group Benefits (GpBenefitsAppV.6) is available with updated terms and conditions language on page two. Start using this version immediately and be sure to use it for 2024 effective dates. The YES tool has been updated with this new version as well.
As always, you can access the most current version of the application and other collaterals in the Salesforce Partner Community for producers.

The MyCare Finder wizard tool
MyCare Finder brings the provider directory, treatment and episode cost estimates, and provider ratings and reviews together in one intuitive experience. And now, MyCare Finder has a wizard navigation tool.
The wizard tool will help users find the type of provider they need (medical, dental, vision, or pharmacy) by first prompting members to log in to their secure account or choosing a path to search as a guest. When the member logs in, they will see the current experience. If the member does not log in, the wizard will help identify what kind of network(s) the visitor is looking for and assist in finding the network that applies to them.
