2025 ACA product review and training
Capital Blue Cross would like to invite you to an upcoming training event as you prepare for this year’s ACA Open Enrollment. We are excited to present our ACA plans for individuals and families for the 2025 plan year. Please join us at one of our sessions to learn more while we review:
Pennie Broker Certification Training for 2025 is now available
The Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority, known as Pennie, has launched their annual broker certification program for 2025. Brokers can create or update their registrations and complete the twelve module training course on Pennie.
Current Pennie Certified Brokers need to complete the annual broker certification by November 30, 2024. If you do not complete it on time, you will be decertified effective December 31, 2024, and your customers will be de-designated.
Annual Medicare Advantage certification
Our annual certification went live on July 19. If you haven’t already completed the training or taken the exam, here are some helpful reminders to get you started:
Use your National Producer Number (NPN) as your username.
Please take a moment to review and update your profile information.
If you are a returning user who forgot their password, click on “Forgot your Password” from the login screen.
Upon logging in, you will see the 2025 Capital certification on your dashboard.
You must receive at least an 85% score in order to pass the exam. Your dashboard will automatically be updated to reflect a passing score and you will receive email confirmation as well. Passing scores are automatically shared with Capital.
As a reminder, Capital also requires producers to complete and pass current year AHIP to meet the requirements for annual certification.
Recap and resources from the 2025 group product training
Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in one of our recent group product trainings. The presentation deck, recordingand additional resources are available to refresh what you learned when consulting with your clients on their 2025 employer group benefit options.
Capital Blue Cross has determined that our 2025 fully insured standard group drug plans, including our qualified high deductible plans, are creditable based upon our understanding of CMS’ actuarial guidelines. While Capital does provide groups with creditable coverage information as a courtesy, self-funded groups are solely responsible for their plan designs and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; therefore, they should consult with their own counsel on benefit issues, including the creditable status of their group drug benefit coverage.
The 2025 benefit grids include links to the highlight sheets for each plan.
This week, the Capital Blue Cross online ordering store will be updated to include 2025 materials. For active Medicare producers, access will be through single sign-on directly from our Producer Portal. After log in, click on Medicare and the icon for the online ordering store. Once there, you can:
Order enrollment kits.
Review and order other items eligible for producer use.
Take advantage of one-time and repeat quick ordering solutions.
Use tracking features for your deliveries.
Access reporting to review and quickly replenish materials.
Some helpful tips:

Our dental network is strong enough to lift a car*
Our dental networks really can flex their muscles when it comes to in-network providers close to members where they live and work. That's a strong incentive for employers to carry our coverage! And now there's more: for new groups who sign up for medical and dental coverage, or for existing medical groups that add Capital Blue Cross Dental, eligible groups will receive a holiday of one month’s premium/administration fee when enrolling in dental coverage, and another when renewing that coverage.
That means two months' credit for the group — as a thank you from us!
When employers combine dental and medical coverage, we can provide a more coordinated approach to member care, which helps lower healthcare costs and improve health outcomes. Dental and medical are stronger together.

It’s back to school season, which means wrapping up the summer vacations, packing lunches, and running to evening sporting practices and games.
With the help of our Healthy Blue Rewards challenges, family can remain the priority without getting caught up in the hubbub. Available programs include:
Family Ties focuses on the many benefits of eating together as a family.
Family Time helps those seeking to lose weight do so with the support of a family member.
Break for Energy (for Caregivers) reminds members to take 15 minutes every day to recharge.
Capital Blue Cross members can learn more about the importance of being a caregiver by completing the Caregiver Support self-guided program, which educates caregivers on the importance of self-care and one’s own emotional well-being, in support of both the caregiver’s health and those they provide caregiving for.
Members can access the Healthy Blue Rewards online or with the AlwaysOn® mobile app.
If you are interested in learning more about these opportunities and how best to promote them to your employer groups and their employees, please email or call a Senior Health Education Consultant or your account executive.
