Heads up: Members will receive their new 2025 Aetna Medicare Extra Benefits Card soon
|
|
|
|
|
As you know, we've revamped the Aetna Medicare Extra Benefits Card for 2025. Read the playbook for details. Key things to know now:
- All renewing members with a card benefit in 2025 will get a new 2025 Extra Benefits Card in the mail soon, along with a comprehensive guidebook outlining how their 2025 benefit will work.
- Members’ 2024 payment card – either the Extra Benefits Card administered by NationsBenefits® or the Aetna Medicare Payment Card administered by Inspira Financial – will stop working after 12/31. They should discard their 2024 card after 12/31/24. Unused balances from the 2024 plan year will not roll over into the 2025 plan year.
- Members will need to activate their 2025 card before using it. If they want, they can do this before the new plan year begins. But their card benefits won’t start until 1/1/25.

If your client wants to identify a primary care provider (PCP) when they enroll, please ensure you include all of the following items on the enrollment form: PCP name, provider ID and primary care ID. For CA-HMO only, you must also include the IPA name/number. And be sure to check "Yes" if your client is a current patient at the selected PCP. Learn more.
