Geisinger’s innovative 65 Forward care model is now available to Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) members age 55 and older, giving your clients earlier access to care designed around healthy aging.
Longer appointments, same- or next-day visits, coordinated specialist referrals and care teams focused on prevention and chronic condition management are all in 1 convenient setting. Members also benefit from proactive screenings, wellness planning and a simplified care experience that prioritizes listening and time with their provider.
By allowing access beginning at age 55, Geisinger helps employer-sponsored plan members establish trusted relationships with their care team earlier. That supports better health outcomes before Medicare eligibility.

ASO clients can use Omada Health for chronic condition support
|

We’ve expanded our wellness portfolio with Omada Health, a new point solution for self-funded (ASO) clients. This digital health program provides specialized support for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension and obesity.

What is Omada Health?
It’s a nationally recognized digital health platform providing virtual care, personalized coaching and connected devices to help manage cardio-metabolic conditions like heart disease and diabetes.
Why Omada?
Omada complements Geisinger Health Plan’s wellness programming by acting as an added layer of support for members with chronic health needs. An answer to growing client interest, Omada offers targeted, tech-enabled solutions to help ASO employees manage their long-term health conditions with real results.
Program features
Includes Bluetooth-enabled scales, glucose monitors and blood pressure cuffs, plus access to certified health coaches and behavioral health support — all at no cost to members.
Eligibility
Adults 18+ with a BMI over 25 (or 23 for Asian descent) and at least 1 risk factor — prediabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension or tobacco use. Clinical thresholds apply for diabetes and hypertension programs.
Omada will be included for current self-funded clients upon renewal and included in all new business quotes.

Members self-identify, apply directly to Omada, complete a quick eligibility check and begin a personalized journey with continuous virtual support.

GHP to host ASO pricing webinar May 21
|

Geisinger Health Plan will host a webinar on ASO pricing and how to avoid unnecessary costs. “ASO Transparency: Cutting through the hidden costs” will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21.
Hear from Stacy Kreller, associate vice president of commercial sales and client services, and Kim Warunek, broker manager, as they outline ways employer costs can easily climb out of control. They’ll also cover GHP’s transparency model for ASO pricing. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.

CMO named to Becker’s list

Jason Mitchell, MD, executive vice president and chief medical officer at Geisinger, was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s “CMOs to Know” list.
Dr. Mitchell was recognized for his focus on quality, safety and reliability across clinical, operational and health plan settings during his first year at Geisinger. As executive sponsor of Geisinger’s high reliability organization initiative, he drove the launch of the comprehensive high reliability strategy across hospitals, ambulatory clinics, administrative teams and the health plan. His efforts helped establish a shared language and consistent operating model for safety, accountability and continuous improvement systemwide.
