Producer Experience Updates
Producer of Record (POR) Update
POR letter templates and the process have been updated.* The new templates can be found in the Resources tab in the Producer Portal (click here for instructions on how to access POR letter templates), OR by visiting the
Resources section of the Producer Pulse.
POR letters received for business in New York, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia will now be effective on the first of the following month. For example, if a POR letter is received May 14th, the POR will be effective June 1st.*
Highmark’s Producer Experience Team created the Producer of Record (POR) Letter Process document for your convenience.
*Changes are not applicable to clients in Delaware.
March 2026 Commission Run
The monthly commission payment process occurs on the first business day of every month, but Highmark’s Accounts Payable department processes all payments on a weekly basis. Normally, commission payments are deposited into agency accounts no later than the 5th business day of the month.
However, for the month of March (paid in April), commission payments will not be received by the 5th business day due to timing of Accounts Payable’s weekly schedule. Instead, commission payments will be received on Friday, April 10, 2026. Finalized commission statements will be available on 5:30 p.m. EST on April 1, 2026.
The commission payout schedule for 2026 is attached for reference and is also available in the
Resources section of the Producer Pulse.
New Commission Statement Feature
The Broker Commission Statement in PDF format will feature an additional section entitled “Transactions Currently on Hold.” This section has been introduced to enhance transparency by outlining business transactions that are presently withheld from payment, along with the corresponding reasons for each hold. The new section will be implemented beginning with the April 2026 Broker Commission Statement. Please see the attached quick guide for reference.
Hold Reasons Explained
Each transaction on hold will include a specific hold reason, which falls into one of the following categories:
-
License Validation Failed: The writing agent assigned to the client has an expired license.
-
Insurance Validation Failed: The agency’s Errors & Omissions policy has lapsed. (This hold reason is only applicable to NY brokers)
Summary Section Enhancement
In addition to the new “Transactions Currently on Hold” section, the “Summary” section of your Broker Commission Statement will now include a line item labeled “Total Held Commissions,” along with the corresponding amount. This addition will help you quickly identify the total value of commissions currently being held.
How to Release Held Funds
To ensure prompt payment, please coordinate with the writing agent to obtain any missing or required information indicated under the “reason for hold.” Once gathered, submit this information directly to Highmark for processing at HighmarkChannelCompensation@Highmark.com. Working collaboratively will help expedite the release of these funds.
Important Note
Please be aware that the new “Transactions Currently on Hold” section will appear exclusively in the PDF version of your commission statement. It will not be included in the CSV version.
