A friendly reminder that the Scope of Appointment (SOA) must be completed in its entirety prior to discussing MA/MAPD or PDP benefits with a beneficiary. Per Section 100.4 of the CMS Medicare Communications and Marketing Guidelines. The following requirements must be on the SOA form of recorded call:
- Product types to be discusses
- Date of appointment
- Beneficiary and agent contact information
- Statement stating, no obligation to enroll, current or future Medicare enrollment status will not be impacted, and automatic enrollment will not occur

Carriers will continue to monitor and perform routine SOA verifications and audits.
