Highmark Update - Producer Talking Points Regarding Anthem Data Breach

On Jan. 29, 2015, Anthem, Inc., a multistate Blue Cross Blue Shield plan, discovered a significant data breach, potentially affecting as many as 80 million individuals. Both current and former Highmark members who received medical services at some time in the last ten years in an Anthem service area (14 states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin) may have been affected. Banet's Bullets: Important information required for same-sex married members

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania now recognizes same-sex marriage as well as same-sex marriages which are valid in other states. In addition, the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has adopted a policy to treat same-sex marriages as they would treat opposite-sex marriages.
