Join us tomorrow for the health equity webinar
Health equity means that everyone has a fair opportunity to be as healthy as possible. This requires removing obstacles to good health, including lack of access to quality education and housing.
At Capital Blue Cross, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile for the people and communities we serve. We hope you are able to join our upcoming webinar about health equity on February 22 at 11:00 AM ET to see what actionable strategies and solutions we have planned to enhance benefit programs and create experiences personalized to our member's needs.
Putting off eye care can be shortsighted
Sometimes, vision problems get overlooked. But uncorrected vision issues aren’t merely an inconvenience – they can affect productivity and overall quality of life. A study by Prevent Blindness, a Chicago-based eye health organization, predicted the nation’s price tag for vision problems, counting medical treatments and productivity losses, could reach $384 billion annually by 2032 and $717 billion by 2050.
No matter what age, oral health is linked to overall health. But good dental hygiene doesn’t stop with brushing alone — especially for kids. So it helps when adults practice healthy oral hygiene because children are likely to follow, setting the stage for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Good oral hygiene best practices include:
Brushing teeth 2x/day with fluoride toothpaste.
Cleaning between teeth daily.
Eating healthy foods and limiting sugary beverages.
Seeing a dentist at least twice per year.
Remind your groups how important dental health is to overall health. Capital Blue Cross can offer an entire wholehealth benefits package including medical, drug, dental, and vision plans.
