This email is intended for producers with business in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. MEMBERS RECEIVING LETTERS CORRECTING LETTERS MISTAKENLY SENT - NOTICE TO PRODUCERS Please know Highmark recently made an error by sending letters to members enrolled with a number of mutual clients stating their provider’s practice or facilities were no longer participating in one of our networks.
These were erroneous letters caused by requirements stemming from recently implemented processes within the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Practices were put into place due to the No Surprises Act (NSA) requiring health plans to notify enrollees in a timely manner when a provider or facility terminates network coverage.
Highmark has since begun to manually inspect files to ensure this doesn’t happen again while mailing letters to the affected members, clients, and providers. A copy of the member and client letter templates are available via the links for your review as they will be delivered beginning today, Wednesday, May 3rd.
We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience this may cause in the market.
Please reach out to your Client Manager with any questions.
