Medicare Offerings

Good afternoon,

We will be communicating with our Medicare Advantage members to inform them of changes to their benefits as a result of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Some changes, specific to Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage took effect on January 1, 2023—but additional changes to Part B coverage will take effect later this year.

  • Beginning April 1, 2023: Members may pay a lower coinsurance for some Part B drugs if the drug’s price increased faster than the rate of inflation in a benchmark quarter.
  • Beginning July 1, 2023: Members who take insulin through a traditional pump will not pay more the $35 for a month’s supply of insulin, and the deductible will not apply to the insulin. This will apply to members using pumps covered through the durable medical equipment (DME) benefit under Part B.

Existing members will begin receiving the attached addendum from us in the mail as early as next Tuesday. An addendum is also required in cases where a Summary of Benefits is being distributed to a prospective member. For any sales kits that you have in your inventory, please print the prospect version of the addendum and add it to your kits. In the future, sales kit orders will include the addendum.
