There are 2 yearly Medicare enrollment periods from January 1–March 31.
- The Medicare General Enrollment Period is for those who missed their Initial Enrollment Period and want to enroll in Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and/or Part B (Medical Insurance).
- The Medicare Advantage (MA) Open Enrollment Period is for those already enrolled in Medicare Advantage who want to switch to a different plan or to go back to Original Medicare.
January is National Glaucoma Awareness Month. Medicare covers a glaucoma test once every 12 months for people at high risk for glaucoma. All people with Part B who are at high risk for glaucoma are covered. Visit Medicare.gov/coverage/glaucoma-tests.html for more information.
