Committed to cost-effective diabetes management
Amid our collective battle against a global pandemic, it can be easy to forget the staggering diabetes epidemic that's costing the United States $327 billion annually.1
Capital Blue Cross hasn't lost sight of the tremendous financial burden diabetes is putting on employers, our members, and communities. In fact, we're taking it head on. It's why we're committed to addressing the rising costs and long-term health challenges associated with diabetes with a holistic, data-driven prevention and management strategy.
On Tuesday, August 24 at 1:00 PM ET, join us to see how we're committed to controlling diabetes costs for employers while improving member health with:
Detailed insights and reporting that cast a spotlight on the key drivers of costs and utilization.
User-friendly channels to meet members on their terms and in ways that address their unique needs at the right place and right time.
Helpful resources and market-leading programs managed by high-value partners and our dedicated, trusted team of clinicians.
The 2022 Medicare product trainings for Capital Blue Cross and Vibra Health Plan are now available. After logging in, you will need to change your password by entering your National Producer Number (NPN), selecting “Forgot your password?” and following the prompts.
Please verify that your mailing address in the training portal is correct; pre-enrollment packets will be sent to that address.
Carrier certification is required annually. To be eligible, producers must have an agreement in place for Medicare plans with the respective carrier.
Automated delinquency process will resume October 1
The automated delinquency process that was suspended due to the pandemic is set to resume on October 1.
Payment in full will be required beginning with October 1 invoices. Any of your clients who may be impacted will get emails to alert them to pending delinquency; we will email you, too.
Currently, groups are manually monitored and additional time is given for payment collection. Groups with payment arrangements will have those arrangements end by that date.
This also means the automated delinquency process will resume. Groups will receive two delinquency notices. If payment is not received by the last day of the invoiced month, the group will be systematically terminated (for example, an invoice due on October 1 will be terminated delinquent on October 31 for nonpayment).
Capital Blue Cross’ Health Spending Learning Center
Have questions about our CDH offerings? Find the answers on the Health Spending Learning Center. This site helps producers, employers, and members learn more about health spending accounts and includes helpful forms and worksheets to support onboarding, enrollment, and beyond. The Learning Center also provides savings calculators, FAQs, IRS guidelines, industry news, and more.
Immunization gaps-in-care
We sent members with dependents who have well-visit and immunization gaps in care an email letting them know what their dependents are missing.
These emails outline the importance of a well-visit with a healthcare provider and how each vaccination protects their child. All data used to create this personalized and easy-to-read checklist is based on claims data collected as of June 30, 2021.
System upgrades scheduled for August 29
The secure portals for members, employers, and producers will be unavailable on Sunday, August 29, from 12:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Times are tentative and subject to change.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
