The impact of COVID-19 on mental well-being in the U.S.

Aetna® conducted a Mental Health Pulse Survey between January 22–January 25, 2021 among a national sample of 2,200 adults ages 18–65+.

The survey details the mental and emotional toll COVID-19 has taken on the nation over the last year, as well as the emotional impact of vaccines, attitudes toward telemedicine, and more. The white paper highlights the long-term impact the pandemic will have on mental wellbeing, and the need for preventative support and increased access to proper mental health care to meet the demand.

ID card changes coming in September 2021

In December 2020, Congress passed the “No Surprises Act”. This act contains several Commercial insurance provisions. For ID cards, beginning January 1, 2022 health plans are required to include, family and individual in- and out-of-network deductibles and out-of-pocket limits for both medical and Rx plans. We also need to include a phone number and website address that patients can use to find provider network status information.

Beginning September 24, 2021, Aetna will add this required information to our ID cards. These federal changes impact all fully and self-insured Commercial ID cards.

We’ll continue to offer two styles of ID cards like we do today. For family style cards, the federally required wording will go on the back of the card. This eliminates the ability for our customers to have  “custom back-of-card wording”.

For individual style cards, the federally required wording will go on the front. This allows for some custom back-of-card wording.

Please contact your account manager for details on how this will impact your customers’ renewal especially for renewals occurring in 4th quarter 2021. At this time, sample ID cards have not been finalized. We will share final ID samples as they become available.
