8:30 – 9:30 a.m. – Covid Vaccine Distribution – Dr. Mark Goedecker and Marissa Michaels, WellSpan Health & Jeanette Gibbs, Penn State Health

The goal of this portion is to provide an overview of vaccine distribution locally. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance to ensure the presentation is targeted to answer the questions most prevalent at that time. A facilitated Q&A will also be included in this portion.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. – Strategies for Increasing Vaccine Confidence - Dr. Nicole Parkerson – Merck & Co

In this session, Dr. Parkerson will provide strategies for increasing vaccination confidence. She will discuss how an employer can create a culture of immunization and provide tools and resources for employers to give a strong recommendation for vaccination.
This portion will then include breakout sessions where employers can discuss questions and communication tools and messages to be utilized in their workplaces to help increase employee confidence in vaccine and community immunity.

Dr. Mark Goedecker, 
Vice President and Regional Medical Director for WellSpan Health

Mark Goedecker, MD has been a Family Physician with WellSpan Health since 2003. He is a fellowship graduate of the Faculty Development Center of Texas in Waco, TX and he received his undergraduate degrees from Case Western Reserve University and his Doctor of Medicine from the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey. For the past year, Mark has served as the Vice President and Regional Medical Director of WellSpan Health’s Central Region which encompasses all of York County. Mark has served as the physician immunization champion for WellSpan since 2009. He continues to see patients of all ages at the Thomas Hart Family Practice Center in York.

Vice President of Business Development for WellSpan Health

Marissa has responsibility for the Direct to Employer, Physician Acquisition, Physician Relationship Management and System support for growth initiatives. During her 25+ years in the healthcare, insurance and the corporate community, Marissa has worked with national employers to build health and wellness strategies; developed an occupational health department for a community hospital; established a statewide provider network for one of the state’s largest managed care organizations and directed national training efforts for a medical diagnostic equipment company. 



GibbsJeanette Gibbs, MS, Senior Vice President for Ambulatory Services, Penn State Health Medical Group

As senior vice president for ambulatory services, Jeanette Gibbs oversees Penn State Health Medical Group’s administrative functions, including staffing, performance, patient experience, quality and safety. Gibbs joined Penn State Health Medical Group in 2018 as vice president for community practice. Gibbs is a member of the Medical Group Management Association, Healthcare Financial Management Association, Health Care Administrators Association and the National Association of Health Services Executives. She earned a Master of Science in health care administration from the University of Maryland, University College, and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.



Dr. Nicole Parkerson
, Regional Medical Director at Merck & Co., Inc.

Dr. Parkerson graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed her residency in Pediatrics at University of Virginia Medical Center. She is board-certified in Pediatrics. She served as managing physician partner at Raleigh Pediatric Associates and has held positions of Associate Faculty for University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC and Board Member for Key Physicians IPA in Raleigh, NC. Dr. Parkerson has also served as Board Member for Cigna Physician Advisory Board in Raleigh.
