On January 28th, President Biden issued an Executive Order announcing a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for individuals and families for Marketplace coverage in response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. In alignment with the Federal Marketplace, Pennie will make this SEP available to Market-place eligible consumers between February 15, 2021 through May 15, 2021. Additionally, Highmark will accept off-exchange applications through the Producer Portal, producer.highmark.com, and paper application forms.
Consumers who enroll under this SEP will be able to select a plan with coverage that starts the first of the month after the application was received by Highmark. Since applications can be received until the end of month under this SEP, please advise your clients to make payment at the time of enrollment to avoid additional delays in receiving ID cards.
*Reminder: SEP enrollments are commissionable. Contact the agency you write Individual business through to verify commission amounts.
