UPMC Health Plan is moving to Electronic Billing
 

We have made the enhancements that you and your clients have requested regarding UPMC Health Plan billing.
 
Starting November 10, 2020, all new groups with a December 01, 2020 effective date and on will be required to enroll in Electronic Billing through our payment system called ACI.  The billing contact at the group will access ACI via Employer On-Line in order to view the monthly invoice.  The system will automatically enroll the group in electronic billing and suppress all paper bills.  The billing contact will receive an email notification each month with a link to view their bill.  Electronic Billing will only be mandatory for new groups at this time.  However, any existing group that accesses ACI via EOL for the first time, will also be automatically enrolled in Electronic Billing.
 
The full transition to electronic billing for all UPMC Health Plan employer groups will begin after the conclusion of Open Enrollment.  Be on the lookout for future information regarding this next phase.
  • All new groups will be required to enroll in Electronic Billing
    • Applies to new groups with a December 01, 2020 effective date and on
    • The group will no longer receive a paper bill and will instead need to sign up for EOL/ACI
    • Premium Bills are only viewable in ACI via EOL
    • The billing contact will receive a monthly email with a link to view their Premium Bill
    • The billing contact will not see the link to ACI within EOL until after the first invoice is generated
  • Any existing group that logs into EOL and accesses ACI for the first time will also be automatically enrolled in Electronic Billing 
    • The group will no longer receive a paper bill   
    • Premium Bills would only be viewable in ACI via EOL from that point forward
    • The billing contact will receive a monthly email with a link to view their Premium Bill
  • The monthly notification of premium bill availability will be sent to the email address of the billing contact in EOL/ACI
  • All employer groups will still have a number of options to PAY the monthly invoice
    • A payment can be made directly in ACI
      • Groups can pay month by month or they can set up recurring auto-payments
  • Groups can pay using a credit card or ACH draft
    • Groups can send in a paper check directly to UPMC Health Plan   
    • Groups can call Employer Group Services and pay over the phone
In order to view the premium bill electronically, the group will need to do the following
  • The Online Account Administrator (OAA) create an Employer Online Account
  • The OAA to assign a Billing Contact for their group and grant billing permissions
