Pennie (PA’s New State Based Exchange) pre-registration

Current Healthcare.Gov registered producers:

As part of our efforts to ensure a seamless transition, we will migrate current customer data from HealthCare.gov to Pennsylvania’s Exchange, including their designated producer (as long as they have an active 2020 enrollment). The Exchange will retain a customer’s HealthCare.gov producer assignment only if:

  • HealthCare.gov provides the Exchange with the customer’s producer assignment;
  • Producer pre-registers for the Pennsylvania Exchange by August 31, 2020; and
  • Producer completes the Pennsylvania Exchange training by November 30, 2020.

Producers who want to newly-participate on the exchange:

Pennsylvania-licensed health producers who want to operate on the Exchange for the first time and have not operated on Healthcare.gov previously, can use the pre-registration process to streamline the process and ensure they are certified and ready to operate on Pennsylvania’s Exchange starting on day 1 of open enrollment for the 2021 plan year. To have your certified-producer account ready on November 1, 2020, you must:

  • Pre-register for the Pennsylvania Exchange by August 31, 2020; and
  • Producer completes the Pennsylvania Exchange training by October 16, 2020.

If you do not complete pre-registration and training by the dates outlined above, you can still become a certified producer on the Exchange at any time during open enrollment or later in the plan year, however you will not be able to be certified and ready to take action on the first day of open enrollment.
