Dear Colonial Life Broker Partner,
Our thoughts continue to be with those suffering – as well as everyone impacted by severe weather across the Southeast – and we hope you and your family are safe. The ripple effects of these events are being felt in many ways. While businesses across the globe are feeling the economic impacts of COVID-19, we should not overlook how this emergency is impacting all of us individually.
We have new challenges to face during the pandemic, and Colonial Life wants to help your clients provide the assistance their employees need.
The health and wellness of employees is most important
Along with the resources available on our COVID-19 response page, we’re sharing insights from Laurie Mitchell, a nationally-recognized leader on wellbeing and health management. On the most recent episode of the HR Trends podcast, Laurie discusses how employers can help their employees handle the stresses of the pandemic, including the importance of strong leadership and communication, employee assistance programs (EAP) that may be a part of their medical plans and the need for promoting self-care. The podcast is produced by Unum Group, of which Colonial Life is a subsidiary.
Simple solutions for complex times
We all have more on our plates than usual, both at work and home. Our online tools allow your clients to work efficiently and provide attention to the people who need them most.
- The Colonial Life for Clients portal allows plan administrators to manage their accounts, update employee information and pay bills from any location, at any time of day.
- To help us provide the best possible customer experience, we strongly encourage policyholders to file claims online. Our online claims page also allows them to upload support documentation and check the status of claims already filed.
- Additionally, enrolling in direct deposit will expedite the receipt of payments.
Taking care of employees means staying informed
Following and understanding legislative changes related to COVID-19 can be daunting. But for employers – especially those with fewer than 500 employees – it’s critical to stay current on what is required and what opportunities exist for assistance.
We’re regularly updating our COVID-19 legislation page to assist you and your clients.
You’re likely wearing many hats right now. Work lives and home lives are blending. Colonial Life is here to help you focus on what’s most important to you, your clients and their businesses.
We’re all in this together.
Stay well,
Tim Arnold
