As the world continues to adapt to the challenges posed by COVID-19, we are making adjustments to take care of customers during this difficult time. To that end, we are asking for your help in reassuring Gerber Life policyholders that we are standing by to work with those who may need temporary relief to keep their life insurance policies in force. 


Effective April 1, 2020, a grace period of up to 90 days is available to those who may need additional time to pay their premiums to avoid a lapse in their coverage. It’s important for policyholders to know that this means a delayed due date for premium payments, not a waiver of those payments. As such, we want to be as sensitive as possible to an individual customer’s circumstances, while at the same time avoiding any misunderstanding that could leave a policyholder with a buildup of premium payments that will need to be paid after the 90-day period is lifted.

Some customers will no doubt appreciate the extra time, as they will need it. For others, who are able to continue making their scheduled premium payments, the 90-day grace period may be unnecessary.

To assist you in letting Gerber Life policyholders know we are here to help them – should they need it – we are providing a script to guide the conversation and address potential follow-up questions.
