Important Information Regarding
the Implementation of Telemedicine and Virtual Medicine Services to
your Fully Insured Client(s)
This email is intended for producers who
service Highmark fully insured clients without a
telemedicine benefit.
We recognize how important it is to help those affected by
COVID-19. To ensure that all of our mutual clients and members have
continued access to quality health care during such difficult
circumstances, we are implementing the following changes effective
immediately.
Highmark is implementing Telemedicine and Virtual Medicine
Services, effective immediately through June 13, 2020. These
services will be accessed through Highmark - at no cost to the
client.
All cost-sharing such copays, deductibles, and coinsurance
associated with in-network and contracted telemedicine and virtual
medicine visits will be waived through June 13.
Telemedicine services are available 24/7 through
Amwell and Doctors on Demand. To schedule a
telemedicine appointment, the member should access the Amwell
website or Doctors on Demand website to register and log in to make
an appointment. Members will need to provide their Member ID.
Note: This includes behavioral health services for those
feeling high levels of stress or anxiety. Many in-network doctors
also offer a telemedicine option. If a member prefers to schedule a
virtual visit with their physician, they should contact the
physician directly.
Client and Member Communication
The Highmark Client Manager will be reaching out to the effected
client(s) this week to notify them of this change. The Highmark
marketing team will communicate to the member of this change.
