| Annual Faces of Fearless Campaign Underway |
| The BlueCross BlueShield Association has launched its 2020 Faces of Fearless Award, for a chance to win a trip for four to Disney World®.
The first step is soliciting those incredible stories from members who overcame a health challenge with the help of their plan.
Encourage members to share their Fearless stories. Entries are accepted until March 2. | | Fitness Your Way February Promotion |
| Capital BlueCross members can join Fitness Your Way this month without paying an enrollment fee.
That’s right. The $29 enrollment fee will be waived when they sign up by February 29. All they have to do is enter the code FEB20SAVE at checkout.
Fitness Your Way gives participating members access to more than 10,000 gyms nationwide for a $29 monthly membership fee. | | Share this flyer with your groups, so they can promote the fitness program and February offer to their employees. | 90-Day Prescription Plan Reminders |
| The move to Prime Therapeutics included transitioning 90-day supply programs from our old pharmacy benefit manager.
Mandatory Maintenance Choice Program was automatically moved to our 90DayMyWay® program. Voluntary Maintenance Choice Program was automatically moved to our Extended Supply Network (ESN). This includes all standard plans. | |
- 90DayMyWay requires members who take maintenance medications to fill them with 90-day prescriptions.
- ESN gives members the option of filling up to a 90-day supply.
In both programs, members have the option to fill these prescriptions through mail or pick them up at a retail pharmacy.
- At a retail pharmacy: Members can fill them at any in-network pharmacy qualified to dispense 90-day quantities.
- By mail: Open refills on prescriptions were transferred to the new home delivery pharmacy, AllianceRX Walgreens Prime, on January 1. Members should set up an account (including payment information) with AllianceRx Walgreens Prime at 855.924.8421, or visit the website. Members can also log in to their secure account at capbluecross.com and choose Start or Manage Home Delivery.
Please note the following:
- The name, Mandatory Mail, remains the same.
- CVS 90 or Retail 90 program members now have the ESN.
Account Executives are available to assist with any questions and concerns. |
| Working Towards a Healthier Millennial Generation |
| Millennials are defined as the generation born between 1981 and 1996. Often stereotyped as health conscious, they’re known for driving fitness trends and food fads. But when you dig deeper, there’s reason to be concerned
about the overall health of this population — soon to be the largest segment of the workforce — and the impact it could have on employers’ cultural and financial health. | | To help business leaders better understand and prioritize millennial health, we’re working with the BlueCross BlueShield Association on a digital marketing campaign throughout February, culminating in a webinar hosted by the Association on March 3
Next week the Central Penn Business Journal and Lehigh Valley Business Journal will publish resources in their digital editions. We’ll follow up a few days later with an email to our prospect groups.
In the meantime, you can check out the available eBook and see what the hype is about. |
| Healthy Blue Rewards Portal Is Live for 2020 |
| The 2020 Healthy Blue Rewards portal went live on February 3 for standard Commercial business.
New this year is a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), available as a reasonable alternative to the BMI, blood pressure, and glucose biometric goals. Members will need to take an online survey to see if they qualify. If they do not qualify, the Online Health University courses are still an option. | | The 2020 health assessment was made available for members to complete starting February 3.* In it are ten new health assessment questions meant to capture information around social determinants of health.
2020 Healthy Blue Rewards program guides are available for:
*For groups with a custom Healthy Blue Rewards program, availability is subject to the group’s program start date. |
| | | | Prime Therapeutics Communications and Resources |
| On January 1, Prime Therapeutics (Prime) officially became Capital BlueCross’ pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) for Medicare, CHIP, Individual, and Commercial members. For the past several months, we have been informing you, your clients, and members about the transition. We continue to reach out to members in an effort to ensure a smooth transition.
We recently mailed letters to members who visited pharmacies in late 2019 that are no longer in network. Similar to the network disruption letters sent to impacted members in November, these letters explain the change in in-network pharmacies — and they include three nearby alternatives that members can consider using.
Letters were also sent to members who received a vaccine in 2019 at a pharmacy that is no longer in network for vaccines. This letter also explains the change and provides nearby in-network alternatives that they can use to get vaccines this year.
Check out our recent press release that shares the news of our new PBM partnership.
Visit our pharmacy page for resources, including available programs, phone numbers, formulary links, and guidance. |
| | | Braintease or BrainFREEZE? |
A man is looking at a photograph of someone. His friend asks who it is. The man replies, “Brothers and sisters, I have none. But that man’s father is my father’s son.” Who was in the photograph?
| See the next issue for the answer! | | Answer to last issue’s Braintease or BrainFREEZE?
Brainteaser: You are in a room that has three switches and a closed door. The switches control three light bulbs on the other side of the door. Once you open the door, you may never touch the switches again. How can you definitively tell which switch is connected to each of the light bulbs?
Answer: Turn on the first two switches. Leave them on for five minutes. Once five minutes has passed, turn off the second switch, leaving one switch on. Now go through the door. The light that is still on is connected to the first switch. Whichever of the other two is warm to the touch is connected to the second switch. The bulb that is cold is connected to the switch that was never turned on. |
