Aetna is rolling out a new Value Based Enrollment (VBE) program through Ascend

How it works:

After the agent submits an application through Ascend, they will have two options to choose from – “call me now” and “schedule a call back”. If the agent chooses “call me now”, they will be paid out a $50 fee. If the agent chooses “schedule a call back”, the pay out is $25. If the client declines or the agent closes out Ascend without choosing an option, the opportunity to receive the fee is lost – they will not have the ability to log back in to complete it.

This is for brand new Aetna enrollments OR if clients that had a one-month lapse in coverage when previously enrolled with Aetna or Advantra. VBE is not available for agents of clients who are simply making a plan change without a lapse in coverage.

To receive these payouts, the agent must be ready to sell in the state that they are completing the application. They must have and complete applications through Ascend – VBE cannot be done with paper applications. Ascend is compatible with iPads and Windows 7 devices or higher. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with Android devices. Service fees will begin to pay out right away during the AEP, so the agent does not need to wait to receive money in January.

Aetna will be hosting upcoming webinars to go over the “how to’s” of using Ascend and the VBE program:

  • 9/9 at 10:00 am
  • 9/19 at 10:00 am
  • 9/23 at 2:30 pm
  • 10/9 at 10:00 am

Be on the lookout for the invitation and information on how to sign up for one of these trainings.
