We've recently
reevaluated some of our practices to include a more balanced
approach to how we underwrite active military personnel.
|
|
Military personnel
will be underwritten with age, rank, military status, and duty
assignments taken into consideration. Applicants will be considered
on a case-by-case basis if:
- The proposed insured is not currently serving
in a war/combat zone and has no deployment orders to serve in
a war/combat zone
- The proposed insured is engaged in a
non-hazardous occupation or duty. Some examples include:
- Administrative
personnel
- Construction
personnel
- Electronic
and electrical equipment repair personnel
- Engineering, science
and technical personnel
- Healthcare
personnel
- Human
resources development personnel
- Machine
operator and repair personnel
- Media and public
affairs personnel
- The coverage amount bears a reasonable
relationship to the risk from a financial standpoint
- All other aspects of insurability are satisfied
Applicants
with the following duty assignments will not be considered*:
- U.S. Special Forces (Army Rangers, Navy SEALs,
Air Force Pararescue, Marine Raiders, etc.)
Other examples
of hazardous duties which would likely not be considered:
- Artillery
Specialist
- Armored
Cavalry/Recon Scout
- Explosive
Ordnance Disposal Expert
- Forward
Observers/Pathfinders
- Combat
Medic Specialist
- Combat
Engineer
- Convoy
Operations Personnel
- Winchman/Survival
Technician
Military
pilots may be rated and/or require an Aviation Exclusion Rider.
*Except in VA
and IL where regulations prohibit consideration of duty assignments
