COMING SOON: A NEW AND IMPROVED HIGHMARK ACA INDIVIDUAL MARKET ENROLLMENT WEBSITE

Highmark will soon be introducing a new and improved online enrollment website for ACA individual market business designed to help producers simplify and shorten the ACA individual market enrollment process. Highmark has partnered with HealthSherpa to provide our producer community with a better and more efficient quoting and enrollment experience.

This new capability will have Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) connectivity to Healthcare.gov, allowing producers to quote, enroll, send communications and handle post enrollment follow ups. Having a site that is fully integrated with Healthcare.gov will be beneficial to producers by saving time, shortening the sales process and allowing for post enrollment follow ups.

What are the benefits of using Highmark’s new online enrollment site?

Producers will have the ability to quote, enroll, maintain applications and upload documents throughout the year. CMS-based documents and renewals will be accessible.
Dashboard reporting will allow producers to manage enrollments and track statuses on leads and clients.
Post enrollment, producers will be able to make changes for clients such as adding a spouse or newborn mid-year.
EDE eliminates the redirect that Highmark and most carrier sites currently have with Direct Enrollment (DE) connectivity to Healthcare.gov. This will save time going between websites and remove the possibility of getting dropped during the enrollment process.
Special enrollment period (SEP) applications will be accepted online. Off-exchange SEP applications will still need submitted via paper following the current process and using the existing Highmark portal to quote.

What should I expect next?

SEP commission will continue to pay per the current schedule through 2019 on both online and paper applications.
Highmark’s new enrollment website will be available soon for SEP effective dates.
We will send account set up instructions and training on how to navigate through the site. Support will be available as we implement this new capability.
