SALES
SUCCESS
Lets face it, sales is not an easy job. So, what separates
the best salespeople from the rest:
- Product
Knowledge:
- Knowing the
product mix in the areas you work is vital. Being
able to compare products will allow you to place your
prospect in the best product for them.
- Passionate:
- By believing in
the product and service you provide, the prospect will see
the value in the recommendation you provide them.
- Organized:
- This doesn't
mean your desk, car, or office is spotless and neat.
It's as simple as being ready for a day
of appointments and keeping an accurate
calendar not to mention sticking to that calendar.
- Personable:
- Need to be able
to relate to the prospect and show them what needs the
product would meet for them. Listening and observing
will help you build a trusting relationship.
- Working
Smart:
- I run into many
agents that just say to their clients, call the 800 number
on the back of the card if there are any problems. I
have found that the top salespeople answer their
phone. They help their clients and can advise a plan
of action. This helps solidify relationships and thus
should increase your retention.
- Self-motivated:
- You are the
rainmaker for your business. Counting on a third
party is not in your business plan except as "The
Icing on the Cake". You are competitive either
with yourself or are looking to be at the top of the sales
leaderboard with the companies you represent.
So, how are these top salespeople rewarded?
