PremierChoice Portfolio Discount
Our PremierChoice product portfolio for large groups offers clients the freedom to choose from 28 streamlined options that fit their benefit needs and budget. Designed to be most attractive to groups with 100–300 enrolled subscribers, PremierChoice products can be offered to any new or renewing fully insured group that is experience rated.

What’s more, electing these standard plan designs can offer savings over custom plan designs. Beginning with January 2020 effective dates, groups electing a PremierChoice product can take advantage of a new discount structure:
  • Four percent—for new groups, including current customers not enrolled in a PremierChoice plan
  • Two percent—for renewing groups currently enrolled a PremierChoice plan

Discounts continue to apply on full replacements for fully insured groups, and only apply to medical and Rx products.

There’s an incentive to new PremierChoice groups starting in 2020, especially if they renew the following year. Let’s take a look at an example of how this would work.

If a new group takes a PremierChoice plan effective January 1, 2020, it would receive the following:
  • January 2020 = four-percent discount
  • January 2021 renewal = two-percent discount

Medicare Campaign Starting
Throughout May and June, Capital BlueCross will reach out to most of our commercial group administrators. We’ll let them know about the different Medicare options available to their group retirees and Medicare-eligible employees.

The letters and emails we send will focus on setting up on-site discussions and presentations for employees.

If you are eligible to sell Medicare with Capital BlueCross, we look forward to working with you to discuss these options with your groups. Regardless of the size of the company, getting them the best Medicare solution is our goal.

Telling Groups about CBI
Some time in the next few weeks, we'll be sending an email to groups about ancillary products available through Consolidated Benefits, Inc. This includes accident insurance, pet insurance, and more. To stay ahead of the game, you can see the email here.
