Sales Evaluation Period Policy Changes
In 2018, we communicated that there will be an annual sales evaluation period and that agents who do not sell a single UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage Plan, Prescription Drug Plan, or Medicare Supplement Insurance plan with an effective date from July 1, 2018, through March 1, 2019, would be assessed a fee and their contract terminated.
There’s still time! UnitedHealthcare has extended this deadline one month to include April 1, 2019, plan effective dates. If an agent fails to meet this requirement, the agent will be terminated, and after a period of time, their immediate up-line will become liable for any unpaid fees.
In addition to the evaluation period extension, a change was made to the termination part of the policy. Now, agents with an active book of business who do not meet evaluation period requirements will incur the fee, but will not be terminated.
You may be contacted by your agencies or agents to inquire about this fee. Please refer agencies and/or agents to the Producer Help Desk (PHD) for any questions you cannot answer.
UnitedHealthcare is committed to providing the tools and resources to help your agents succeed. When you visit www.uhcJarvis.com, you’ll find sales tools, training and more to support your business so you can help agents meet and exceed their goals.
See the updated FAQs (for agents with a BOB and for agents without a BOB) for more information, which includes information on how agents with an active book of business can elect servicing status; please note this election is not an option to agents without a current book of business. |
