New to Medicare Commission Payments Easier in 2019
Like plan change commission is easier and will pay you in full in 2019! UnitedHealthcare will pay the full, initial year commission for new to Medicare members – even if a like plan change is made in the same year!
- Situation: The agent enrolls an individual who is new to Medicare in a UnitedHealthcare plan (e.g., regular Medicare Advantage plan) and then, during that member’s initial year, moves the member to a like UnitedHealthcare plan (e.g., Dual Special Needs plan).
- Outcome: You will keep the full initial new to Medicare rate as long as the member stays on the new plan until the end of the calendar year. Pretty simple!
Here’s how the payment structure on your commission statement will work!
Details
The agent will receive the full, initial year commission regardless of the number of months a member is on the plan as long as both of the following conditions are met:
- The agent is the Agent of Record (AOR) for both the initial enrollment and the like plan change.
- The member stays in the UnitedHealthcare plan through the end of the calendar year.
Note: Rapid disenrollment rules and exceptions still apply. AOR retention rules apply.
This payment structure applies to like plan changes, more information here.
