Highmark and Geisinger are pleased to announce they are teaming up for a clinical joint venture that will focus on providing efficient and convenient access to advanced health care for Highmark members in northcentral Pennsylvania.

This partnership is a clinical partnership between Highmark and Geisinger’s clinical enterprise—this will not affect a clients’ insurance coverage. Highmark will continue to provide their client’s coverage and there will not be any changes to their benefits, premiums, or network.

To ensure future access and services for surrounding communities, two new care facilities will be built for members in the surrounding communities of Lycoming and Clinton counties:

• A new, four-story, 114,000-square foot hospital and healthplex will be built in Muncy Township.
  • For more routine care, the healthplex will include a multi-specialty clinic with adult and pediatric primary care, orthopedics, cardiology, ophthalmology, pulmonary services, and women’s health services.
  • For long-term care, the Muncy Township facility will also house a state-of-the-art operating suite with 20 inpatient beds. Medical oncology services, chemotherapy preparation, and general surgery services will also be available.
• A new, two-story facility will be built in Lock Haven, with a walk-in urgent care center, adult and pediatric primary care offices, imaging and lab services, physical and occupational therapy, as well as a specialty clinic with dermatology, cardiology, gastroenterology, surgery and women’s health services

All Geisinger facilities aligned with this partnership, including the two new facilities, will provide high-quality, value-based care and accept both Highmark and Geisinger Health Plan insurance.

INTRODUCTING OPTUM PRE-PAYMENT CLAIMS SOLUTION

Highmark is pleased to announce the addition of a new pre-payment claims accuracy solution through Optum, Inc.

Highmark joins other health plans and government agencies across the nation in adding Optum services to its exceptional complement of tools aimed at reducing claims costs and ensuring payment integrity.

Optum is an industry leader in pre-payment integrity analytics. Optum’s capabilities will maximize the ability to move from primarily a post-payment identification and recovery process to a pre-payment model.
