The IHC Group
At The IHC Group, our goal is to help you by consistently providing forward-thinking products that compete in today’s market and meet consumer needs. You have access to the broadest short-term medical (STM) products available.

Short-term medical insurance provides temporary health benefits for those in-between-major medical coverage. Features include customizable policy length starting at 30 days, deductible and out-of-pocket options, and the availability of next-day coverage. Our suite of STM products includes:
  • Connect STM – Our standard STM product covers a range of benefits. Benefits include doctor visits, hospitalization and surgeon services.
  • Connect Plus – STM that provides a limited benefit for certain pre-existing conditions. Connect Plus covers up to $25,000 in eligible healthcare expenses which are attributed to certain pre-existing conditions.
  • Connect Value – Our lowest cost short-term medical insurance has carefully selected plan limitations which drive lower premiums.
  • Starting on November 16th, there will be an option to quote short-term medical policies in Ohio for durations up to 364 days, with an effective date of 1/1/2019. In Missouri, the 2x6 plans are available to quote for 1/1/2019 effective dates.
  • Connect Plus and Connect Value are now available to quote in Ohio for 1/1/2019 effective dates.
  • Short-term medical sales have been shut off in Delaware. Please keep in mind this will eliminate sales of the Fusion product in Delaware as well.

This coverage is not required to comply with certain federal market requirements for health insurance, principally those contained in the Affordable Care Act. Be sure to check your policy carefully to make sure you are aware of any exclusions or limitations regarding coverage of pre-existing conditions or health benefits (such as hospitalization, emergency services, maternity care, preventive care, prescription drugs, and mental health and substance use disorder services). Your policy might also have lifetime and/or annual dollar limits on health benefits. If this coverage expires or you lose eligibility for this coverage, you might have to wait until an open enrollment period to get other health insurance coverage. Also, this coverage is not “minimum essential coverage.” If you don’t have minimum essential coverage for any month in 2018, you may have to make a payment when you file your tax return unless you qualify for an exemption from the requirement that you have health coverage for that month.
