Highmark's 2019 Medicare Star Ratings Are Now Available! 

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released Highmark’s 2019 Medicare Star Ratings on October 10th. We are pleased to announce that our Community Blue Medicare HMO, Community Blue Medicare PPO, Security Blue HMO-POS, and Freedom Blue PPO plans in Pennsylvania have all obtained a Star Rating of 4.5! 

This is the 6th consecutive year that our Security Blue HMO product has been rated 4 Stars or higher. It is also the 5th consecutive year that our Freedom Blue PPO products in PA have received at least a 4 Star rating. Our Star Ratings performance reflects our commitment and ongoing investment to improve the health care experience for our members.

We have provided an electronic version of our Star Ratings below (embedded as a link) for you to review: 

• Community Blue Medicare PPO: 4.5 Star Rating
• Community Blue Medicare HMO: 4.5 Star Rating
• Freedom Blue PPO: 4.5 Star Rating
• Security Blue HMO-POS: 4.5 Star Rating
• Freedom Blue PPO WV: 3.5 Star Rating
• Blue Rx PDP: 3.5 Star Rating

Once CMS publishes the new Star Ratings, agents are required to use updated rating information within 21 calendar days of the release; therefore, the 2019 Star Ratings information must be updated no later than October 31, 2018. We would like to make this an easy process for you and will be assisting with updating your materials as outlined below: 

• All enrollment kit orders placed on or after October 17, 2018 will include the 2019 Star Ratings.
• Any enrollment kit orders placed on or prior to October 16, 2018 will be sent a small quantity of 2019 Star Ratings.
