Uniontown Hospital will terminate the Highmark Medicare Advantage contract effective 
January 1, 2019

 Highmark values the importance of offering our members high quality and affordable access to health care close to home and will continue to maintain an open line of communication with Uniontown Hospital.

Know the Facts:

• Our members will have access to several alternative options for hospital care. There are four other in-network hospitals within an hour’s drive of Uniontown Hospital; these include AHN’s Jefferson Hospital, WVU, Highlands, and Monongahela Valley.
• Out-of-network benefits will be available for Security Blue HMO, Freedom Blue PPO, and Community Blue Medicare PPO members.
• MA members will always be able to access Uniontown Hospital for emergency care.
• Uniontown Physicians and Fayette Physicians have not requested to terminate.
• A six-month run out period allowing MA members access to Uniontown Hospital will be in effect until June 30, 2019.

Letters were mailed to members regarding this recent network change and are estimated to arrive on 9/26.
