Short Term Medical plan durations extended

In response to the Final Ruling that allows for longer Short Term Medical (STM) plan durations, we will begin the process of extending all current STMx2, STMx3 and STMx4 policies in order to provide members the maximum allowable coverage period in their state. Please note, while the ruling allows for initial policy durations of less than 12 months, some states only allow for maximum policy durations of three or six months.

Beginning on October 2, 2018, members in states that allow for STM plan durations of more than three months, and who currently have two, three, or four STM policies remaining in a sequence of consecutive STM plans will benefit from coverage term extensions.
