Good news! The restrictions on Short Term Medical sales have been lifted

It just got a lot easier to sell our Short Term Medical.

We are excited to share the news; the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the new regulation that allows for up to 12-months (364 days)* of Short Term Medical (STM) coverage, with up to 36 months for renewals, for customers enrolled on October 2, 2018 and later; replacing the current maximum of up to 3-months.

We believe the new STM market will bring exciting and new opportunity for all of you. And, as we continue to review the final ruling, we are prepared to deliver new, innovative coverage options to help both our current and new STM members get the coverage they need.

National General is committed to keeping you informed on how this change will impact you and your clients. Watch your inbox for more details in the coming weeks.

Remember, our STM plans:

  • Include access to Aetna Open Choice® PPO Network — helping your clients get the care they need for less
  • Include access to telemedicine, cost negotiation services, and programs with discounts on prescription medications and other goods and services that help your clients save more**
  • And, are a great fit for your clients looking for more affordable coverage options
We’re excited about the change and look forward to our ongoing partnership with you, and continuing to serve your clients.

Thank you, from your team at National General Accident & Health
