Effective October 1: All Small ASO and Mid-Market New Business Subject to Medically Underwritten Rates
We recently updated the 2018 Underwriting Compliance Guidelines. They now incorporate changes to the medically underwritten rate process.
 
Starting October 1, the revised process applies to all new business medical quotes in the Small Business ASO and mid-market segments, regardless of census size.
 
Updated BenefitWallet Discovery Form Now Available
BenefitWallet has a new onboarding process for groups and its members. So, it’s important to use this updated HSA Discovery Document for employer group setup.

These one-hour sessions help focus attention on each group’s unique needs, including the employer portal.

Effective January 2019: Dental Premium/Admin Fee Holiday for Groups That Add BlueCross Dental
When groups combine dental and medical coverage from the Capital BlueCross family of companies, we can provide a more coordinated approach to member care. Together, we help lower healthcare costs and improve member health outcomes.

Beginning with January 2019 effective dates, we will offer up to two months of a dental premium/admin fee holiday to encourage this bundling.
 
Who can take advantage of this?
Effective January 2019, the holiday will be available to all Capital BlueCross fully insured and ASO commercial group medical customers that add BlueCross Dental at renewal, or are new Capital BlueCross medical groups that include BlueCross Dental during enrollment
How will it work?
When groups qualify for the holiday, Capital BlueCross will apply a one-month credit to the dental premium/admin fee 75 to 90 days after the start of the contract. If the group renews its Capital BlueCross medical and dental plans in 2020, we will apply another one-month credit 75 to 90 days after their renewal.
 
Groups must be within tolerance to receive the holiday credit.

Details were included in large group renewals and proposals at the end of July, and will be included in other group renewals and proposals by September 1.
