Great news - as of May 15, 2018, UnitedHealthcare
is releasing an updated voice signature capability in LEAN™ for
AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans, insured by
UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company.
Consumers in eleven states – Illinois, Indiana, Georgia,
Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania,
South Carolina and Utah now have the option to sign their
applications via voice signature through you, their agent.
Voice Signature is an enrollment enhancement that gives consumers
the ability to complete enrollment in an AARP Medicare Supplement
Plan from a location of their convenience, if the consumer chooses
to do so.
Note: As a reminder, agents are encouraged to
communicate with consumers in the manner the consumer prefers.
Agents must have some means of accommodating consumers who wish to
meet face-to-face at a mutually agreed to location. When agents
discuss the voice signature option with a consumer, they must also
tell the consumer that they are available to meet face-to face with
them to complete the enrollment if that is what the consumer
prefers.
So how does Voice Signature work?
Using Voice Signature is easy-everything you need is
within LEAN™!
First, familiarize yourself with the Voice Signature User Guide to help direct you through the process. Next, see the
Voice Signature enrollment process in action by viewing a full step-by-step instructional WebEx, or, join one of our Live WebEx training sessions.
Before proceeding, you must confirm you provided your client a
current copy of the AARP Medicare Supplement Enrollment Kit. During
the enrollment process you will be asked to attest that you
provided the consumer with this information and you will be required
to ask the consumer to verify if they have a copy of the Enrollment
Kit in front of them at the time of the call. Next, ensure that the
consumer understands and is willing to sign the form electronically
via voice signature.
Then, log on to LEAN™ and start completing an online application
for consumers residing in one of the 11 states mentioned above.
Once you get to the Signature Capture page, select Voice
Signature and carefully follow the instructions as indicated on
each page.
Please note that all information, questions, terms and
conditions, and disclaimers displayed on the screen must be
read verbatim to the consumer during the recording. If any
verbiage is missed, a new application will have to be submitted.
|
·
To start the
recording, call 1-888-889-9198. Ensure your client is on the phone
with you and has agreed to have the application voice recorded.
Note: gray boxes are instructional content for you to read and not
to be recorded.
|
·
With your client on
the phone, walk them through plan options and the plan application.
Please confirm all of the questions are answered and submit the
completed application.

Signature is just one way UnitedHealthcare is making the AARP
