BenefitWallet—Our Preferred HSA Administrator
When your clients team up with BenefitWallet to provide health savings accounts (HSAs) to their employees enrolled in our Qualified High Deductible Health Plan (QHDHP), they have access to these great advantages!
 
For the employer:
  • Simple—One form starts the setup process; Capital BlueCross forwards all necessary member enrollment information to BenefitWallet, who in turn reaches out to the employees to setup their HSAs
  • Free setup—There are no initial or ongoing setup fees to the employer for this service
  • Options for account fees—The group decides if they want to pay the employees’ monthly account maintenance fees or if the fees should be deducted from each employee’s account
  • Options for funding—The group decides if they are going to fund a portion of the employees’ HSAs, and/or if they want to offer payroll deductions for employees to fund their HSAs with pretax dollars; funding methods are easy-to-use on BenefitWallet’s secure employer portal
  • Reporting—BenefitWallet’s secure employer portal gives groups a variety of on-demand reports
  • Employer support—Available seven days a week
For the employees:
  • Easy access to funds—Employees have many methods available to withdraw funds: debit card, checkbook, or the easy-to-use, secure member portal, where they can select or enter claims to be paid to themselves or directly to healthcare providers
  • Single sign-on—When employees log in to capbluecross.com, they can link to BenefitWallet’s website with one click
  • No paper claims—Capital BlueCross transmits all medical claims data to BenefitWallet nightly to display for the employees in their BenefitWallet secure portal; employees can select which claims to pay, and to whom
  • Educational materialsMyBenefitWallet.com includes FAQs, videos, and online calculators to help employees understand their HSAs and make smart choices on how to reduce their tax liability while saving funds for healthcare expenses and retirement
  • Member support—Available seven days a week
​​​​​​Keys to successful implementation:
  • Talk about using BenefitWallet early
  • Have the group complete the BenefitWallet HSA Discovery Document as soon as possible and submit it with the group application to Capital BlueCross; BenefitWallet will then email instructions directly to the listed contact
  • Have questions while completing the form? Contact your Capital BlueCross account executive
  • Encourage the group to complete their Open Enrollment early so elections are submitted to Capital BlueCross several weeks in advance of their QHDHP effective date   
 
Salesforce Tip!
When viewing a quote proposal, you can now see the termination date and family coverage cost tier for each product. From the Quote View, select Related Information. This will show the Asset Line Items (i.e., products). The termination date replaces the end-date column, and a family column has been added.

New for you! To streamline group cancellations of one or more product lines, an Intent to Terminate Coverage Letter section has been added to the renewing group checklists in Salesforce. You can access each checklist through the links below.
