Privacy Notices for Small Group Aetna Funding Advantage
We just added another Aetna Funding Advantage (AFA) resource to make our customer's lives easier. Starting this year, we'll provide a HIPAA privacy policy toolkit to all new business and existing AFA Small Group customers. Our toolkit provides the resources your clients need to meet the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act's (HIPAA) notice of Privacy Practices requirement. It helps plans sponsors explain to employees how the Plan Sponsor and Aetna may use and disclose personal health information. The toolkit includes: Instruction document with background about the HIPAA Privacy Practices notice requirement Notice template plan sponsors can use to develop a privacy communication to their employees Reminder template plan sponsors can use to remind employees of their privacy policy Our sales implementation managers will email the toolkit to new 5-50 customers once their case is installed. The toolkit will go out to all existing customers in early February. While implementing the toolkits, your clients may want to consider appointing a Privacy Officer that employees can direct concerns to at their company.
