Over-the-counter benefit: Frequently asked questions

The over-the-counter (OTC) benefit offers your clients an allowance they can use to get certain generic health and wellness products at no extra cost to them. They'll be able to order from a list of approved OTC items and we'll mail them to their home address.

Which Advantra Medicare plans have the monthly OTC benefit?

Who is eligible for the benefit?

All members in the applicable plans will be automatically eligible for the monthly OTC allowance.

Does the monthly benefit roll over?

No. All orders must be made by the last day of the month.

What OTC products are covered?

Multiple categories are covered including pain relief, digestion/laxatives/antacids, cough/cold/allergy, anti-hemorrhoids, anti-fungal, first aid, dental, ear and eye care and vitamins. Click here to see a catalog of all covered products.

When will members receive the catalog?

Members will receive the catalog in December.

How do members make an order?

Two options are available to members:

  • Order by phone: 1-888-628-2770 (TTY:711) Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Note: Members should have their member ID, name and street address ready to place their order
  • Order online- This option will be live starting January 1, 2018: http://order.otchs.com. Note: You clients will need to register on the website to place your order

How long does it take for the members to receive the order?

Items will be delivered to the members door within 7 to 10 business days.
