The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released Highmark’s 2018 Medicare Star Ratings on October 11th and Highmark’s Community Blue Medicare HMO, Community Blue Medicare PPO, Security Blue HMO and Freedom Blue PPO plans in Pennsylvania are all rated 4 stars! Highmark is pleased to announce this is the 5th consecutive year that our Security Blue HMO product has been rated 4 Stars or higher. It is also the fourth consecutive year that our Freedom Blue PPO products in PA have received at least a 4 Star rating.
Once CMS publishes the new Star Ratings, agents are required to use updated ratings information within 21 calendar days of the release. By November 1, 2017, agents are required to be distributing the 2018 Star Ratings information. In order to help facilitate this, Highmark is doing the following:
- All enrollment kit orders placed on or after October 17, 2017 will include the 2018 Star Ratings
- Enrollment kit orders placed on or before October 16, 2017 will be sent a small quantity of 2018 Star Ratings
- Please ensure you tear out the 2017 version from the enrollment kits you currently have on hand and replace it with the applicable 2018 version(s) once received
