Aetna once again outperforms industry average in latest Medicare star ratings

Aetna’s Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MAPD) plans have once again received higher than average ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in the annual Star Ratings.

  • Aetna’s MAPD plans earned an overall weighted average rating of 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.

  • 87% of Aetna’s Medicare members are enrolled in plans rated 4.0 stars or higher — the highest percentage among publicly traded companies.*

  • We’re offering Individual Medicare plans in 991 counties across the country in 2018. 91% of these counties will have a plan offering rated 4.0 stars or greater.

Make sure you review 2018 star ratings with beneficiaries

CMS requires you to review the 2018 star ratings document with beneficiaries when presenting our MA/MAPD, PDP plans. CMS secret shoppers and our own contracted secret shoppers check for this too.

By November 1, if you have an existing supply of enrollment kits, it’s your responsibility to swap out the 2017 star ratings page with the new 2018 star ratings document. Find out where and when you can get the 2018 star ratings documents.
