Highmark Medicare Commission Update

As we all look forward to an exciting and successful AEP the Senior Markets team at Highmark has been hard at work over the last few months implementing a new commission system designed specifically for our Medicare products. The commission system is expected to be implemented as early as September. Several of the key changes you can expect:

• More accurate and timely commission payments!
• Medicare Advantage payments will now be paid as written instead of the month the policy goes into effect
• Faster AEP 1/1 effective payments
• January 2018 renewals will begin paying on a monthly prorated basis to avoid large chargebacks due to mid-year disenrollments
• Medigap commissions beginning 1/1/2018 will be paid a 9-month advance
• Faster turnaround on any outstanding commission inquiries
• Book of Business and Application Status reports on the Highmark Producer Portal

The team here at Highmark is excited to launch the enhancements and better your experience of working with Highmark. While we are excited for the new process we understand there are some who may have outstanding commission payments yet to be processed or incorrect chargebacks being processed mid-year. Our team at Highmark will be addressing these incorrect payments as we implement the new commission system throughout the next two months. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve these errors and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
