SPENDING ACCOUNT UPDATE

Clients have started to receive communications regarding their employees' HSA custodian changing from Bank of America to Acclaris, Inc. this November.

Acclaris, Inc. received regulatory approval to become a non-bank custodian and, as such, is ending their Bank of America preferred custodian contract. A non-bank custodian is an organization that is not a bank but is approved by the IRS to perform as a custodian by meeting certain requirements to handle health savings accounts (HSAs).

Clients will be receiving a communication that explains the transition, when it is occurring, member impacts, HSA membership and notional account membership (if applicable).
