Special Enrollment Period (SEP)/Qualifying Life Events (QLE) for On & Off Exchange

To enroll NEW UPMC Health Plan prospects or to process changes for existing UPMC Health Plan Members (on exchange):

• Go directly to Healthcare.gov to process changes for existing on exchange UPMC Health Plan members and to enroll on-exchange prospects.
• If you go to Producer OnLine to try to process changes for current on-exchange members, you will receive this message:

• Call the Producer Assistance Line at 1-855-306-8276.
• Please remember that proof of a qualifying life event is required to process an SEP transaction.
• If you go to Producer OnLine to process changes for these members, you will receive this message:

Commission For Special Enrollment Periods

• Because of continuing changes in market dynamics, we will continue to not pay commissions for Special Enrollment Period (SEP) enrollments in 2017. This would include all SEP enrollments occurring after 1/31/2017 (the close of open enrollment).
• Any producer selling a policy to a member during SEP will be eligible for commission in 2018 if that member re-enrolls with UPMC Health Plan during open enrollment for 2018.*   

 
*All commissions are contingent upon your continued status as a contracted producer with UPMC Health Plan and shall be subject to the terms and conditions of your Producer Agreement and commission schedule.
