Open Enrollment 2017: Dates to know
|
We're excited about our 2017 product line, and we're looking forward to helping you meet your customers' needs. Here are some key Open Enrollment dates to keep in mind:

November 1, 2016 – Open enrollment begins.
|
• |
November 30, 2016 – Current Independence members should be encouraged to submit plan changes by this date, so that they receive their ID cards before their coverage begins on January 1, 2016.
|
• |
December 15, 2016 – Last day to enroll for health coverage to begin on January 1, 2017.
|
• |
January 1, 2017 – First day new coverage can begin.
|
• |
January 15, 2017 – Last day to enroll for coverage beginning February 1, 2017.
|
• |
January 31, 2017 – Open Enrollment for 2016 ends. Customers who apply by January 31 will have an effective coverage date of March 1.
|

2017 Retiring Plans and Mapping Scenarios
|
In 2017, our PPO Platinum Complete plan will be retired, and Silver Proactive Value and HMO Bronze will be removed from the products available on the Marketplace. Members currently in PPO Platinum Complete will be mapped to PPO Platinum. They will not be mapped to a Dental or Vision policy, but will be made aware of the option to enroll in these ancillary products. Members who currently have the on-exchange version of Silver Proactive Value or HMO Bronze will be mapped to HMO Silver Proactive.

Please note: the Silver Proactive Value and HMO Bronze will remain available off-exchange. Also, for members in PPO Platinum Complete, Dental and Vision waiting periods will be waived if they select to add Dental and Vision during open enrollment.
