Blue Solutions® Choice discontinued

Good Morning.  We wanted to make sure you are aware of this breaking news from Independence Blue Cross regarding Blue Solutions® Choice.  See information below.

Blue Solutions® Choice discontinued as of June 1, 2016
Effective June 1, 2016, we are discontinuing our Blue Solutions Choice online shopping platform for employers with 2-99 eligible employees. Your customers have the option to renew into their existing 2015 Blue Solutions Choice plans. However, effective immediately, we are not accepting new Blue Solutions Choice business cases.

Although customers with June 1 and July 1, 2016 effective dates may see references to Blue Solutions Choice in renewal kits that have already been mailed, we have updated renewal kits for all remaining 2016 effective dates to remove references to this offering.

Guidelines for renewing Blue Solutions Choice customers
As a reminder, Blue Solutions Choice underwriting guidelines allow customers to offer up to five plans. If no changes are initiated by you or your customer, we will map a customer's 2015 benefits to recommended 2016 options. They will be able to maintain four or five plan options with enrollment only. Groups without enrollment will be cancelled and the number of plan options reduced to the amount of groups with actual enrollment.

If a customer selects any other of the 2016 plan options that are not part of their recommended renewal package, they will revert to the new underwriting guidelines, which allow for a maximum of three plan options.

Using ROAM to renew customers
If a customer initiates enrollment additions or changes, you can use ROAM to enroll them in up to three plans from our standard Blue Solutions portfolio. Please note that enrollment for customers with four or five plans must be submitted either through the employer portal at ibxpress.com or by mail via paper application.

You can encourage your customers to streamline their plan offerings to three plans to facilitate enrollment through ROAM.
