2016 SEP Enrollment

As you know, individuals must have a qualifying life event to enroll for individual coverage until the 2017 open enrollment period. UPMC will require documentation/proof for a qualifying life event for all off-exchange SEP enrollments.  Individuals will be required to submit documentation prior to submitting the enrollment.

There are two ways to submit documentation:

 If the member does not submit the proper documentation:

  • We will not process the transaction/enrollment.
  • We will outreach if the documentation is not sufficient.
  • The prospect potentially can have a lapse in coverage if the original requested effective date has passed.

Please note: For all SEP enrollments, you will need to contact the Producer Assistance Line to enroll your client. You will need to provide your name and NPN to be attached to your client. The Producer Assistance number is 1-855-306-8276.
